The Central District Health Department's (CDHD) Emergency Response Plan (ERP) and annexes provide details of CDHD's response strategy to a natural or manmade disaster, communicable disease outbreak, or other public health emergency. CDHD has integrated the National Incident Management System (NIMS), as well as the Incident Command System (ICS), in our planning, training, and exercising efforts.
Public health emergency response requires continual planning. At a minimum, the CDHD ERP is reviewed and revised annually. If directives or events indicate a need for more frequent changes, the ERP is revised accordingly.
CDHD takes an all hazards approach to public health emergency preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery operations, in accordance with federal response strategies. Our emergency response plan has been designed to complement the emergency response plans of governing state agencies, such as the Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security (IBHS) and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare (IDHW), county emergency response agencies, first response agencies, and other partner organizations throughout Health District 4.
Continuity of Operations (COOP) Planning
Also referred to as Business Continuity Planning, COOP Planning attempts to mitigate the lasting impact and interruption to business practice resulting from a catastrophic event or disaster, including flood, earthquake, and pandemic influenza.
